  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Airline approved battery - Who makes them?

Does anyone know how long these will last on a scarlet?

If I just want a single battery V mount (I want to keep my rig lightweight is their a single one? Can it plug directly into the epic or does epic use a special cable?

Will this charger work with the above batteries? I see they have a quad charger, but it's too big for my needs.

Swit batteries are not good batteries, I don't care what any one else says.

Airline approved batteries I have been carrying for the past year all over the World in large quantities ON Board as Carry ON have been:

BLUESHAPE BV100: http://www.blueshape.net/batterypacks_bv100.asp?lng=

BEBOB ROUGE V90RM : http://www.bebob-rouge.com/index.php?product=8761

I have carried as many as 4 each, 8 total, never a single problem with any Airline, this batteries have never let me down, the Swit on the other hand... Well Never again.

The Scarlet draws about 60w, so that 95w battery should last about 1.5 hours. In practice I would say a little over an hour to be safe. The charger will work perfectly with that battery.

To answer a previous post's question, Swit and Switronix have nothing to do with one another.

There is also a new V-mount battery design from PAG which is stackable. I have not used it but understand it to be well made. They can charge stackable as well, which is an intriguing concept.

I have flown all over the world with both SWIT and IDX Endura Elite batteries. Both of them split into 2 parts to make them safe to carry on an airline. We tape all the terminals and carry them on the plane with this: http://www.filmtools.com/cicibag.html. Its the perfect battery bag for the SWITs, because it can hold 4 batts and 2- two bank chargers perfectly! The SWIT batts also have an extra D-tap built into the top of the battery that comes in handy. The IDX batts are lighter and can be easily re-celled by simply purchasing new cartridges for the battery. I haven't done any comparison testing for run times, but I feel like they are close. The mystery is which ones will go through more cycles and keep on chugging... we shall see. My money is on the IDX, but that may be brand bias talking. Good luck!

I agree. They also have smart mode so Red sees the battery status.

SWIT CHINA is in China. Switronix is in Long Island, NY. We are not related at all.

Switronix also makes a direct to epic/scarlet plate as well as both 195watt hour as well as 95 watt hour v brick which is under the TSA limit and is still three times the power of a redvolt.

Does anyone know if Swit and Switronix are related or are they completely separate entities and product lines?

Hey Mitch,

Just an FYI to all Redusers. Switronix will be introducing a new V-mount next month, 98wh with % battery data protocol and stackable. Includes an onboard ptap and USB!!! So you can power the redmote directly from the battery, no additional regulation cables or adapters needed. USB port right on the side of the battery.
