If I'm powering just a Scarlet, and not tons of external recorders and whatnot, is there any reason I need the $455 10amp Dionic HC over the $400 6amp Dionic 90?

If not, any reason I'd want the $400 Dionic 90 over the $320 IDX 10S? (I don't have a battery plate yet, so mount type isn't an issue)

It's worth remembering that there are a zillion battery companies out there beyond the two OEM brands. I've spent years using Swit onboard batteries through Keslow Camera and have had a great time with them. There are heaps of other manufacturers too... look around!

Lee,

If you are not going to be powering many accessories in addition to the camera then you should be fine using the DIONIC 90 battery. The main advantage of the DIONIC HC is simply that it can handle a higher current draw better. Feel free to PM me with a list of equipment you wanted to power and we can figure out your total power consumption and what battery would best fit your needs.

I have been using Batteries 4 broadcast for a couple years now and they have been solid and a heck of a lot cheaper and there customer service has been great

Using the V-Mounts seems like a no-brainer except that to mount them to Epic requires a nearly $2000 adapter. There has to be a better solution.

IDX E10 or Pag, V lock fits most kit. Anything else just caused yet more kit to accumilate on location.

Hey Curren,

I'm visiting Doug sometime in January. If you're interested I can bring the Brook APU-IDX plate if you want to try it out on your Epic. It's the Vmount version so I can bring a battery as well if you have none. Hopefully I will be bringing Scarlet with me too ;)

Awesome. Would be cool to check it out.

Cool. Yeah it's a great piece of hardware for sure. I'll let you know when I finalize my trip details.
