What lenses would you recommend me to buy for Scarlet X if money was no object to you, for Narrative shoots :bath:

Sheri,
I recommend that you use the search function of this forum. It sometimes can be cumbersome and not yield many results because of so many recent SCARLET posts.
I did a search for SCARLET and LENSES and came up with this:

And this was a recent posting too.
Also, you may want to be more specific when asking questions in the future. Details like what lens mount you have on the SCARLET would help a lot. PL or Canon?
The new Leica's lol. $178,000 for a set of 8 lenses.

Now what's your actual budget? Or are you simply asking to see what the best lenses are.

Beyond the links given something to think about is how wide or long you'd like to go. Standard lengths commonly used in narratives usually exist in the 18mm through 135mm range.
You'll see a lot of cinematographers who like 3 to 5 primes or two zooms that cover a lot of range. It's really up to the shooter.
If you would like more creative range for a more "epic" perspective you'll be looking at lenses in the 8-16mm range. If you are looking to get real close up or want to shoot things really far away, 200-600mm.
Wow, cute chick living fun city with unlimited budget for filmmaking gear .... WILL YOU MARRY ME???
Just kidding, I'm already spoken for and did very well with my wife, but glad you're here and choosing to go with Red.
As others have noted:
- Best cine lenses in PL - Leica C
- Best manual still lenses - Leica M series
- Best larger format lenses with AF - Leica S
- Best 35mm still lenses with AF - Nikon G
The last one is debatable, there are some serious Canon fans here - but read up on Evin Grant's posts about the latest Nikon lenses.
Exceptional performance, even wide open or f2, making them an amazing performance/value combo.
LOL i'm sure ur wife is awesome I know have to get som one to help I don't think u can lift theses cams on ur own compared to a 5D Sheri L.
you might be right how much do they weigh?
