  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Peter. this is not the internet. this is RED's forum. it is a PRIVLEDGE to be able to post anything here. Sorry but saying you are "calling their bluff" (i.e. calling them a liar ) is just like walking into their HQ and taking a shit on the floor... period the end.

not about WHAT you said.. its HOW you said it. You continue to defend like a politician when you should retract and apologize for the aggressive and confrontational approach to the subject.

If I were RED. I would put you at the back of the line for Scarlet. it is THEIR RIGHT and in JIM's SIGNATURE... your attitude sucks dude. imho. as does mine now having to read threads like this; which is just NOISE... have fun waiting for those modules!
 
This makes me wonder something...

Does RED host this board or is it more like the DVXuser-type where it's 3rd party but Panasonic reps hang out.

Or is DVXuser hosted by Panny, too?
 
I'm don't like this kind of thread but sometime it's good to let people say what they want to say whereever they want to say it ... they just have to be respectful regarding all the people here...
If someone is upset that's normal ... RED made camera that force people to become strange...
YOu have poor guy taking big loan in other to buy their dream
You have Canon making Cameras Jokes in order to copy RED, ... what else ?...
and you have some passionate Guys, lik the one who made this thread, who can write thread like that...
but you know, telling the truth, I'm sure that he is not the only one thinking of this ...

Here the community, we just have to reassure him and telling him that we are in the same boat ... and patience is a vertue... he will get his camera if he ordered one...
I'm European ... I know that I will get my camera long time after the US owners even if I ordered it very soon - that's the game ... I don't care ...
It's a special camera, at a special price, with special specs, built by special people who are able to create a forum where everyone can say what they want to say ...
I like all that and I'm patient

do u have any info or any experience about that? because, as i understand, it's a specific office with specific stocks in europe.

Yes there are some crazy people in Europe like me who does not sleep ( was 4am), getting the info thanks to Tonaci twitter, the computer in front of them, the RED STORE down, the eyes crying because nothing was working and after waiting 10 minutes sometime 15 for each page to appear they managed to order a SCARLET before guy living in Los Angeles does... hehe :)
I can swear you If I was there during the announcement I would be the second or the third !

Regarding info of Shipping... Brent said that Europe will have a slight delay but that's normal ... regarding stock that Alan has already in his house or that he is has to bring from the US - was not very clear about that... - but also regarding customs clearing, tax and everything and I'm sure that RED Uk are not as much big as RED US, regarding all this point we will have delay ... hope not too long...

What is more, I'm not able to reach by email Alan since 2 days, he is probably overwhelmed and I don't want to bother him any more to get more info.
He was a real gentleman since the very beginning when we ordered the RED ONE, I don't want to be a passionate fan that harass him in order to get his camera...
He deserve a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne and I will bring him one a day when I will pass in London as he is a real professional,
I trust him for taking care of us quickly and carefully
 
guys come down, petter can ask does questions, and of course it is not by accident that tonaci is the first guy to have the scarlet in his hands. This guy is doing the best promotion for red since ever. and dont get me wrong, i like what he is doing, but in that case he is just the perfect person to tell everybody how great the scarlet is. anyway, i see no problem with petters question, and we will see if he was right or wrong about it, if there will be no cameras shipped with in the next week, he had the right concern.

it's a thread coming from a guy which is not happy ... that's all hehe, he said loud what the other said very low...
I'm not really fan of this kind of thread but I enjoy to see that people are able to say bad thing without some OFFICIALS bashing him for that ...
and it's a way of setting 'what is the current general mood' of everyone
Its nice to know that they are people happy of everything and other one that feel bad...
it also good to know why ...

Sorry, I can't bring myself to read this entire thread -- far too pointless. o forgive me if this question has even been raised.

Why would there particularly be any issue at all with RED getting Scarlet out? They told everybody the origins of the camera -- it is a simplified version of the EPIC, essentially using mostly common parts and a few that were not capable of the EPIC spec but were fine for what they determined for Scarlet. I'm sure they did that determination based on what they were finding from the QC from the parts coming out of fab. So other than a couple of body panels, silkscreening and some firmware structuring, why would anyone think there is a conspiracy holding back the shipping of Scarlet cameras? They already know they have the parts. Do you really think the conspiracy is that they made up this story? It's a hell of a thing for a company to even state that they received parts not up to a spec but they found a different way to use them -- most lay-people would assume not to spec parts go in trash bins. Are you seriously accusing RED of concockting this tale and then delivering Tonaci an EPIC with some stuff switched off just so they could counter Canon? "Hey we have these EPICs we could sell right now to people on a list for three times more, but instead let's switch off a bunch of functions, call it Scarlet and sell it for much LESS money then we could be making!"

I know Jim Jannard knows a lot more about making money than I will ever pretend to, but somehow this doesn't strike me as the way he made his billions.
