Need urgent help!.. anyone!! Not getting any response from Redteam due to weekend I guess, anyone has problem booting up your Epic that has firmware 1.6.44 before? My camera has water damaged and was sent to Red for serviced... sent back to me yesterday and was installed with latest firmware. Had problem booting up with my DSMC handle attached, later on managed to boot up with the handle detached and the camera seems ok later even with the handle and LCD attached.

This morning, I had the same problem again to boot up the camera (fan was running but not booting up)... after a few rounds, suddenly it works again.... and the worst happened 3 minutes later... suddenly, the camera just shut down and never boot up again.. Tested with and without side handle, redvolt, v-mount batt, with and without LCD.. all sort of combinations that I could think of..... still not booting up. Only has red light on above the start button (standby mode), each time I pressed the start button, the fan seems to move couple of rounds and stop again.. and the LCD blink once.. immediately back to standby mode again.

Not sure what happened!! Is this a firmware bugging or something wrong with the camera itself...

Please, if anyone can share this problem with me or any solutions..... would be much appreciated..

Regards,
Eric

i'd say FORGET trying to boot & use the camera...GET it to RED ASAP....water damage can cause all kinds of strange problems all over the place. So lets say you get it booted today....will you want to just forget sending it back to RED and cross your fingers you don't have this problem again? Hey, might be firmware, but after 90 days and your warranty is up.....you'll be screaming.

Ouch.. sorry to hear this man. Must be very stressful.

Seen this before... same symptoms, Happened to me in India and the poor guys that owned the camera had to send it back.

I'm sure the RED fixit Team will look after you.... Well I hope they will. :))))

Best of luck dude.

And I guess you are booting from the memory card, correct?
If not thats what you should do. New FW on the card and boot up from there with the AC attached...

Eric, I just checked all tech support tickets from today and they are all answered. I also do not see one from you specifically?

Can you please file one on RED.com? But from what it looks like, it is going to have to come back in for further evaluation by our engineers. But, again, support ticket is the right route.

Your's was a different issue that was a firmware bug which was fixed in 1.6.42.

Hi Guys, thanks for your opinion.... tried booting with AC power and force upgrade as well.. not working. Seems like got to send back again to Red....
