  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ordering from Europe. No deposit?

got my order in in the "Open Order" tab but no contact from Bomb Squat yet. Should I be worried? Also a final European price with Taxes etc would be helpful actually #grml but I take it they are just overloaded with orders right now... but some open public communication on that part would be nice like:
"We are overwhelmed with orders at the moment please be patient." It would be a nice calming gesture.
 
In my experience living in the UK and dealing with Alan at RED Pinewood there's nothing to worry about! Really, it's an excellent service and I'm sure they're a bit busy today :)

... thats a bit of a task, since the VAT varies from country to country ....

... it may be around 19% / 20% for germany or italy and is actually only 1% for companies in San Marino as well as a tax free option for electronics bought on vacation in SM ... ;-)


P.S: ... i am not an accountant ... ;-)

Yes. In the UK you can claim it back of course, if you're VAT registered.

You will get a final European invoice. Jim or Jarred already mentioned somewhere about giving the overwhelmed Bomb Squad reps some leeway.

+1 on this, Alan Piper and his team are great. Already had two emails from him today.

After talking to Alan, the $14,000 (and change) package is £9,580.00 + vat

As I see it, we're still at 20% VAT so my calculations suggest that the Scarlet shooting package is £11,400 (give or take a bit)
 
You're not paying VAT on order time when you're in the EU and order from RED Europe, right? Alan told me the Scarlet-X + SSD module & AL Canon mount would be 6,670 GBP, and that would include VAT/taxes/etc (UK price), excluding shipping.
 
In my 'Open Order', the price for the Al Scarlet package is named at £ 9,645.00.
That's actually $15,468
Every item is listed individually and at the top, 'SCARLET-X AL CANON MOUNT PACKAGE' is marked as 'Canceled'.
Anyone else having this?
I have the feeling it would be a lot cheaper to order from US and pay shipping, toll and VAT myself.
