Sam talks about cranking up to 16,000 ISO and not seeing a ton of grain...shot green screen at 16,000

he became famous with dslrs...

yeah... and now he is a viable asset for any company wanting to suck dimes out of indies.

[Justin Marx]

It looks more plastic-E than the 5D

[Mike Garrick]

That 2nd camera everyones is talking about would be the rumoured lower priced option of around $6k (rumoured)..... Can't help thinking there stretching the specs out....I wonder why?

This thread does not belong here.

It would be smart to close this thread now and let the excitement begin for the final hour.

I wanna see a price on these nice zoom lenses, and wanna know if they have internal motors that can be linked in 3D mode!

I hope Jim cuts to the chase with the specs, this "Canon Announcement" is all vapour until we hear some specs! Obviously the image on the screen counts, but:

megabits per second, frame rates, dynamic range, price! it's supposed to be made TO the industry, not the spectators

[Justin Marx]

It just doesn't look like something designed for anything but a quick buck.. The screen, meh.. just makes me love my EPIC and its BEEFY made in the USA feel and build..

"could shoot green screen shots at ISO 16,000"

Ok. Time out. Who the #&%k does that in the real world?

[Justin Marx]

REDUSER has shut the search option off.. hmmmm

Engadget:

8:03PM Felix and Vincent echo what the others said, namely that external lights are unneeded when filming with the C300.

Maybe for stability?

Vincent: "opening an entirely new way of lighting" due to low light performancef

If canon isn't going to announce nothing further then WHY would they go thru the trouble of making such a humongous event..
If THAT camera is all they are going to announce they had done a better job via their website.

Arg, the NEW POSTS button is gone too!

FXPHD guys are saying it's oddly noisy which means not so good in low light.

Not as bad as I thought....

8:00PM Sam's experience was similar, and could shoot green screen shots at ISO 16,000, which is, in his words "revolutionary in terms of speed."
