I know there maybe a post with this question so sorry for the repeat.

I'm going to be starting a documentary project soon and I was wondering if anybody has found a good solution for audio with the epic. I know action products makes and XLR adapter for the epic, but I am concerned if I buy the audio adapter and the riser plate it won't mount to the DMSC Quick Release plate and if it does mount will it throw off my rod support system so that things don't line up (matte box etc..)

Is there another solution out there, I currently have a small little shotgun mic that plugs directly into the small adapter which works great for scratch tracks, but I won't to plug my wireless mic system into the epic and be mobile to record.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Adam

Hey Adam. I shoot docs as well. I use the Wooden Camera A-Box with my epic. I also picked up a couple of the hot shoe mounts from them. Using the A-Box on a rod, I connect my shotgun mic and wireless receiver. I use the FMJ top plate and the Red DSMC bottle plate. All works happy. I will post pictures when I can later today. Works awesome. I am working toward a "rod less" set-up as well.

A quick release version from ActionProducts is in progress and will soon be introduced.

HI,
I just got back from a three weeks absence, and found my Actionproducts' Audio Adaptor ( http://www.innocinema.com/product_info.php?products_id=158 ) had arrived. I immediately mounted it to our Epic, it's beautiful, tight, compact, and a strong fit. The cables are hidden in the riser plate, which makes for a really elegant design. I really like it. I'll post some picks when I get a chance. I highly reccomend it for those that want a well thought and well made professional solution. I'm still waiting for the 15mm Rod Mount Audio, which will hide, and protect, the mini-jacks for a really slimmed down, cable less (as in hidden) solution.

Cheers,
Damien
