Do we still need REDline to transcode R3D files? If so where does it live as when I use the REDline install function in RCX it asks for a password but I get an error when I enter the password?

Hi Ross,

REDline has never been necessary to transcode from within RCX. The install REDline dialog shows the install destination. All we do here is place a symlink to the binary inside the app bundle. By default the location is /usr/sbin and that requires an administrator password.

That is the problem it won't let me enter a password...perhaps because I changed to no password? I keep getting an error box. If I don't need REDline should I worry?

You might need to add a password as somethings won't authenticate on osx without a passwd.
