When I import my R3Ds into Premiere CS5.5, everything plays and looks great but my audio tracks are just loud static. The waveforms display as a bunch of vertical lines, not normal looking waveforms.

The audio plays back just fine in Redcine-X Pro, so I know it's there and was recorded properly...

EDIT: Also having another problem. I recorded some pretty long interviews, and naturally they are spanned over several R3Ds. When importing into premiere, instead of merging the multiple files into one R3D, it just sees the multiple clips as duplicates of the first R3D? Hope that makes sense....

Any help would be great!!

The audio thing is a known issue with the current Adobe Labs build of the Red SDK. Hopefully they update it soon now that a lot of Epic-X's are getting into the wild!

The other issue re: import, are you dragging the clips from the Media Browser (set to Red footage mode) or directly through the OS's file manager system? The latter can sometimes cause the effect you're seeing.

HTH!

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul :)

Thanks Paul, I'll try some different importing methods. So for the audio, there's no work around currently? Do I need to just edit in FCP until they fix it?

Pull the audio track from RedCine-X as a workaround if need be. Other option is to record the old fashioned way with a slate and dual system sound (like with a Zoom H4n or similar on camera).

Cheers,

Paul :)

This lack of audio support for Epic is indeed becoming a real hassle. I hope Adobe integrates it real soon.

So I'm confused then... How do I get the audio from the R3Ds out of Redcine? I can't seem to find an export option for audio only...

EDIT: I'm good to go. Used the Avid AAF export preset with the Audio-only box checked. Thanks for the help guys, I'm off to edit!
