(maybe this thread exists already? If so do tell and I'll transfer my post to the right place)

Here's a thread to tell us about cinematographers whose work you enjoy, and why. From the biggest names to the lesser known, new faces or classics, this is the place to share your cinegods!

Personally I really like Alwin Kuchler's eye. His more recent work includes Hanna and Sunshine, but I discovered him through Lynne Ramsay's Morvern Callar whose visual interpretation captures Alan Warner's novel so beautifully.

He has a way of translating the lives of the unhinged, those intense or out of control moments, while remaining inside the borders of very concise visual rules. Also quite a masterful colorist.

And you guys? :)

Northfork really got me, such a underrated picture, yet so beautiful to me. The imagery was great.

also...

he educates me every time I read one of his post.

Wally Phister, ASC. I just watched Inception again tonight. Inception was so beautifully lit. The Dark Knight was amazing along with Insomnia.

In addition to Mr. Phister, it would be the entire ASC as they do much outreach to the cinematography community. David Mullen ASC, as well since we are on the Reduser site.
