  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey REDusers!

Please be on the lookout for a brand new set of CP 2's & Zeiss Standard Speeds that were stolen on a shoot in New Orleans on August 29th. If these lenses come up for sale on Reduser, Ebay or Craigs list please let me know! The CP 2 focal range is 18/21/28/35/50/85 and the Standard speed range is 16/24/50/85 the 32mm was the only lens I got back with major barrel damage as well as cracked rear element from the thieves dropping it and leaving it behind. The thieves even stole the lenses individually and left the cases behind. If anyone has any information please let me know. Here are the serial numbers for the lenses that were stolen.

Hopefully there is justice in the world and those who steal ultimately get what they deserve. Maybe they will get caught in the sting operation that is under way.
 
I just emailed the scum bag. I have a knack for pulling in thieves and having them taken to where they belong. It is easy, thieves are DUMB and they are also GREEDY and that combination is one that sets them up to be caught. Tom, if he does happen to respond to my email or I also gave him my phone #, I will call you.
 
You should remove the link from this forum. Otherwise a quick google search will reveal that he has been rumbled.

The thieves just showed up again under Craigs list Austin. Same posting but know have rearranged the the lenses in a different order, Plus the 28mm is now there. Number is still the same.

They also say that they have a set of older Arri PL mount lenses. Sounds like my Standard Speeds which weren't on the listing before.

first sorry to hear that this happen...Contact authorities and they have the power to immediately supeoena craigslist for ip addresses to postings and there is a start...

A real estate broker that steals lenses. I suppose it's possible, but there's always the possibility that the cell phone # is old, not correct, etc. Just being Devil's advocate. If it is the guy, and the police connect the dots to him, great!

Could easily be the number was recycled and someone else is using it. Looks like he's an ex-real estate agent. Also, he was apparently never licensed because there is no record of anyone by that name having a real estate license in LA.
