  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does anybody know what they used to shoot TV series "Top gear"?

Does anybody know what they used to shoot TV series "Top gear"?

I assume they used several different cameras for each episode... but I was wondering what is their main camera.

Thanks!

PDW-700 and PDW-F800 XDCAM.

In Australia anyway

I've heard that they also use Vision Research Phantom's for the super slow-motion stuff, but that's hearsay only.

Seems like the look of Top Gear is more about the heavy grading then the camera used, as well as the artistry of the direction and operation of course.

Absolutlely you need a solid image to push it that far, but if you are interested in the look they achieve, the camera is not the most important part of the equasion.

They use pretty much every camera under the sun because of all the crazy cool rigs and shots they do.

I love the grading of this show. The only show that if I watch the first minute I don't leave until the end credits roll. Very slick. Nicely directed. Top talent.

I have the dubious pleasure of being related to Jeremy Clarkson (my second cousin)
