Waited till the end of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to see the credit for RED. There was no RED logo though.

PIC attached.

It also mentions Panavision...

We rented cameras to Panavision that were destined for Pirates. Seemed a bit crazy at the time, but I guess MXs were hard to find...

So you got to see the little extra shot? ;)

Chuck: Lenses.

Kodak is also mentioned - is that for the distribution copies on film?

Indeed, Martin. But weren't there some stories about "Panavised" RED cameras that were credited as Panavision supplied equipment on other RED shot films?

I'd guess who ever supplied the cameras gets the credit, so if RED supplied it, they'd get credit... right? makes sense... I guess...

Panavision indeed requires it by contract. RED does not which, personally, I think is a shame - they deserve every bit of credit! I've heard enough of 'geez, those panavision images are sure great!*'

* please note I am not bashing Panavision, they are a great company, but when they get credit for the image produced by RED cameras, yeah, well - credit where credit is due...

The only movie I've ever seen with the actual "Shot on Red" LOGO at the end was Gamer. Every other movie just says Shot on Red or has a bunch of Red technician credits buried in there.

The latest AC with Pirates as the cover story claims that Panavision bought some 19 cameras from RED to supply the show with what they were wanting. Also talks about Panavision testing a ton of lenses to get pairs to match as closely as possible. Good stuff.
