Aloha Jim, first off I'd like to say that I've been following RED since the DVXuser days and have the highest levels of respect for you both personally and as a business owner. It is for this reason I humbly ask you a question about money.

There is soooo much information out there it's enough to make your head spin. Because of the massive amount of bias a lot of financial "advisers" have connected to their person I always end up getting stuck in a vicious loop of asking myself whether or not said person has and alternative agenda. I will leave all names out as to respect other humans.

I cannot imagine a human like you not being aware of the looming and very real issues of hyperinflation and full potential collapse of the fiat money system. For this reason I humbly ask if you have any tips you can offer man to man?

I understand if this is completely the wrong place to ask such a question and if you feel it's of total non-relevance to Reduser, I'll totally understand. I just have a lot of admiration towards your ethics and power to create wealth..

Much love in advance.

Kalani-

Who says there's any worry? That's a presumption that just isn't true.. I am instead interested in hearing what a human with a lot of money in flux might suggest. Purely based on respect of his life's timeline and it's relation to sweat equity vs monetary gains vs life stuff etc.. I'm just asking an honest question to a specific person, please don't presume that I'm worrying cause I'm not. I live on Maui and have been prepared for any external world outcomes for some time now..

I just wanted to ask Jim ya know?

Kalani my advice is take all your assets sell em then bring the cash to Vegas this weekend go to NAB and spend it all on Hookers and Blow! I'm a really good investor so trust me this is good advice.

By the way in your bike video are you riding down from Kula to Kahului? Do you live up in Kula? I have cycle (bicycle) toured Maui all the way around 4 times. I love Maui although every time I have done it I tell myself that I will back track on the road back from Oheo Gulch on the Hana hwy back Paia to rather then loop it on the dessert side. But like a dummy I always do the killer ride from Oheo Gulch to Kula and always run out of water and almost kill myself. Last time I did it I jumped over some gates on private land just before Kula on a dusty double track that took me down to Kihei. The short cut had a bunch of no trespassing signs and lots of gun shell casings everywhere so it was a little sketchy.

Cheers Braa love Maui Daren

listen to him, Finner knows best

If I didn't have a 5yr old I just may do that! ; ) oh, those fields are so much fun, I've got a vid coming up that will just be titled "LOST" and it's going to be me attempting to get myself lost in the labyrinth-like sugar cane fields of Maui. I was born and raised here so it might prove a bit tough. Damn, mountains. Oheo to Kula!, wow, that's ballsy. I guess this is the right place to find such beings though : )

Anyways, didn't want to drift off topic too much but will say that I'll be purchasing a Scarlet fixed the second they are available! I think RED products are fantastic investments as you can use the tool and the tool has great resale if you are compelled to sell it. (but who like do dat?)

If you're so worried about the collapse of the dollar, buy gold.

Silver... Gold is good.. especially if you bought back at $745 or less..

silver is still a good deal.. I bought a SHIT LOAD when it was 17 bucks.. like back in august.. its now 40...and still being held back.. it will sky rocket soon...

dollar will be dead by next year

Agreed. I wonder what the purchasing power will be based on 1 oz of silver. If and when the fiat system collapses.. It will kind of be counter intuitive to base it on another currencies value that has collapsed.. I guess what I'm saying is it doesn't matter if silver shoots to 10,000 US dollars per ounce if based on hyperinflation a loaf of bread cost's $8,965.00 USD type of thing..

But strictly based on the power silver has to conduct electricity/currency I know it will always be looked at as a form of monetary acceptance.. Just wondering what that might look like in a new paradigm..

PS, can you define a "SHIT LOAD" and did you buy the raw physical stuff or the paper representing silver?

I would never buy paper silver or paper gold..
for every ounce of physical silver or physical gold the banksters sell 10 oz of paper gold and paper silver..

Basically it all comes to a huge collapse (banks dishing out paper silver/gold) once silver hits 45-46/OZ which will happen in weeks/a month or 2..

I dont want to say how much silver and gold i have invested in. all physical and in my possession...

It would be extremely wise to jump into physical silver asap..

I was saying the dollar would collapse for years and i was called a conspiracy theorist (which i am) a kook, crazy.. but the fact is, our fiat system is un sustainable and will come to a crashing halt.. and it will bring most of the world with it..

gold and silver have ALWAYS been the backing for every currency. and it will again.

you cant base the current situation on silver or gold.. because they will always hold value. a loaf of bread may cost $8,000 but at that point silver would be $120,000- 170,000/oz

ahhaa, good call. Silver purchasing starts now. Did you go for the 1oz coin route for 10%-ish more by volume or the straight up bulk 100 oz bricks.. I can see how both have pro's/cons..

Zakaree I'll lock in an option for you to buy at 200% of the current USD rate in 12 months. After all, when the USD collapses and becomes nearly worthless it'll be practically free! I'll sell you $10k (current) worth of silver for $30k next year. :D Sounds like a bargain right?

It is a fair question... the only suggestion I would make is to always be careful with your money in good times. That's when people tend to forget that life is cyclical. We spend everything when times are good thinking "this will never end" and then panic when we are over our head when it turns... and it always does. Each time this happens we seem totally surprised. I have the luxury/curse of having seen this stuff over and over. The 1st few times I was shocked at what a precarious position I had put myself and family in.

I believe in enjoying life. I also believe that that can be done with what's left after I have prepared for most doom possibilities. Prudent is not a very cool word. But I believe in it now. We really don't need most of the stuff we buy... stuff that ends up being "peace of mind bandits".

Come on, guys. People have been saying paper money is going to collapse any day now for 100 years. Gold, like paper money, is valuable only because it's something people covet, because it's shiny. If there's anything that's going to collapse it's the precious metals market bubble. Why do you think the prices keep going up? Because of people like you jumping on to the bandwagon. As the economy recovers and people realize that no matter what Glenn Beck says there isn't going to be an apocalypse tomorrow, the prices are going to plummet.

People and the tools that enable them to do things (like cameras) are valuable. Currency, whether it be gold or paper or bits and bytes, is just a proxy we've all agreed on.

Thanks for offering your wisdom, Jim! It always shocks me how many people who enjoy success at one point end up in horrible debt.
