This has nothing to do with Red cameras but does anyone ever have the problem of exporting a video that plays perfectly well on Final Cut only to have the exported file flash to a green background multiple times, jump around and lag in image? Usually happens when there are added effects of some kind on the time line. It plays fine on Final Cut playback but screws up after you export it.

Sometimes this even happens with Final Cut playbacks where a random frame appears in the playback but is not actually there when you play it frame by frame.

I thought it was a rendering problem of some sort but the sequence has already been as fully rendered as possible, and still these random frames appear either in the playback or exported video. :( Is there an easy solution to solve this? Coz it's mighty annoying to be stuck on something that should've been done in 5 minutes.

Any help would be appreciated.

The random frames could be flash frames or fields. If your timeline is not hooked up to a monitor you will not see them until you export the final video. Locate the frame in the final, then go there in the timeline, then extend the clip before the shot 1 frame or cut the affected shot by one frame. This should fix this.

Another thing to try is deleting all your render files. Then re-render your timeline, check it, then export.

this would be more appropriate over at dvxuser.com

Remember, Red only forum :thumbup1:

Thanks for the advice. Will try that. :)

I have the same problem when I reverse telecine something through cinema tools. From what I've noticed at work, a lot of it seems to be based in FCS2. If we take it to FCS3 on another machine, it works fine. Also, it will sometimes work sporadically after a restart, which makes me wonder if the memory may be full at times. Not 100% sure of the reason or fix, but you're not alone w/ this issue, that's for sure.
