  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I visit red.com and this forum daily and I always see the "back-ordered" at Red.com store.

I know that RED one with MX sensor is not in production anymore due to upcoming Epic (right?) but I am kinda concerned that even if the Epic comes out, due to the many reserved orders... I will not be able to get Epic (or any RED...) until like 2013 or something... (including necessary accessaries..)

Will this be resolved when the Epic starts to have massive productions? (or should I start getting stuffs like power, SSD, rails, etc..)

If a RED MX is what you want - you should have no problem getting one used. Especially when EPIC starts shipping - there will be plenty of RED MX's and accessories for sale. Get one now and make money with it until EPIC's are readily available.
 
Any EPIC-X ordered at NAB will be delivered by this summer.

He tells us about the beginning of shipping the Fixed, but it's not the same as saying when will all the orders be fulfilled -, approx.

guys, seriously.

jim has said the summer deadline quite a few times. that's the best he's going to offer right now. please stop the whining and badgering. there are very real variables to be worked out. when they are able to give out more information, we will know.

I don't see any whining in this thread. The reality is that Jim only gave this piece of information because the original poster raised questions about delivery schedules. Please let RED speak for themselves.
 
If anyone gets an EPIC "X" delivered to them before me just because they ordered at NAB I'd be a very noisy pissed off little camper.

I'm camera 158 and have 20k in EPIC deposits sitting in RED for almost a year now waiting.
And am ready to throw down for another 2 more when someone from RED lets me order more.
So if Jim says you can line jump and order "X" from NAB and have it delivered in the next 3 months. Jez .. so help me...
Backorders first please. Loyalty remember. Early RED believers up front. All the movie boys have already jumped que, please don't push us back anymore down the line. We have cash in hand and ready to go!

I wonder if the BOMB evf's will finally be made and delivered with the EPICS in summer.
Those things are seriously on the slow train from where ever.

Sorry guys... bit grumpy today.
 
Mark, I'm fairly certain Jim has been saying that all Epic orders currently in would be fulfilled by NAB.

Mark: Don't get too fired up :smile:. I think you are reacting to this (Jim's post below) and I'm pretty sure he means that if you are a stage 3 candidate and order at NAB you will be delivered by summer and that us stage 2 people will be well before that. But we don't really know for sure with these one liners.

IIRC epic-X is specifically the special package for stage 2 and 3.

But Jim, these are the kind of vague posts that drive us crazy. Is there any chance of getting a little more clarity as to what is really going on? We are basically at the end of February when production Epic-Xs were to ship.

Would be nice to know if these will trickle out in ones and twos, or are you expecting dozens in the first month and then hundreds or thousands in the next few months.

I'm currently about number 50 on the Reduser generated list of stage 2ers, but it would be also nice to know what our actual position is from the source and that could be done in a simple email blast to the stage 2s.
 
I'm with Michael here.. I'm still wondering what the Epic X package even includes! There have been changes (Yes I counted on it) but no firm notice on what's different.

I'm also in the same place as Michael. I seem to remember we would get a 30 day notice on when the cameras are to begin shipping. That means if I get my notice today, I'd be looking at the end of March.

I would think that Epic-X would be shipped in larger quantities at a time. Maybe 25-50 at a time. So once they do come out, you'll probably see them roll out pretty fast.
