  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

debayer test

Y = F
C = H
M = Q

(Yellow sharpest but also most aliased, Cyan in the middle, magenta least detail and no aliasing.) The ideal debayer would have detail of Yellow and aliasing of Magenta. :smile5:)
 
Y = 1/2 resolution, good debayer
C = Full resolution, premium debayer
M = 1/4 resolution, good debayer

There were other details here before about my testing setup and through processes. Removed by request.

oh sweet statistics.

after a close look in photoshop,

yellow = full
cyan = half
magenta = quarter

I'm gonna hazard:

Yellow = Full
Magenter = Half
Cyan = Quarter

Admittedly, it is almost impossible to discern with this particular image at 1080p. Shocking, really. And encouraging!

What's everyone using to view these? I'm using Photoshop viewing at 100% size. The idea being this is a test of visual / qualitative discernability. Is anyone doing something more scientific / quantifiable?

I used preview on a MacPro and a 27" Dell IPS monitor.

No Zoom whatsoever. The diference was very obvious to us here.

They all look really good for 1080p though.
Yellow looks sharpest at full screen, but that seems to be because the detail is a bit coarse compared to the Cyan. Had to go to 800% enlarged on a 22" monitor to decide which was which between those two.

Yep.

Cyan --> full
Yellow --> half
Magenta --> good

EDIT: Don't want to give away hints.
