Today was the first real job for Epic #00087. Things went great, we shot all day at Ben Kitay Studios right up the street from RSH and got some great shots regular speed and some high speed work.

It's crazy how small the Epic looks. Amazing.

Revolutionary camera. Revolutionary size. Here they are using it like a big camera. I can't wait to get my hands on it so I can use it like a small camera. Imagine the movement, the angles... the possibilities!

Man love it!
just to reiterate the general consensus
This multi-million dollar production, technically apt dudes and creative genius hanging around for this cute little box . Really puts things in to perspective when Epic is introduced to a production environment almost laughable if it was so f'in seriously EPIC

Tiny....just tiny

somebody tell me about this purple screen... is it meant to minimize green spill or what? why not just flag or cover the parts of the screen that aren't in the shot? that way you're not dealing with green and purple spill at the same time...

Such power packed into a very small package. Hope we get to see what was shot soon. I see George Lopez.

these are promos they usually have quick turnarounds, watch tbs and i am sure you will see them in the next couple of weeks.

there was basically 2 set ups...1 with green screen in the BG ( for compositing logos and titles - obviously) and then we turned around and actually shot the purple as the partical background with associated jokes related to purple...this is LA don't forget purple is big here...lakers, kings, santa monica blvd.

Awesome! I didn't expect to see a completed Epic project so soon! Congrats.

dino, first of all, thanks for the report.
Would it be possible to have your AC to post his initial thoughts about the camera from an "assisting" perspective?
Thanks

haha dino that is the most awesome thing ever. it's always purple?!

and how'd you get the name dino?

Like others, I'm just blown away by the size. Used on traditional size tripods it almost seems like too much. But man, it's so cool. Impressed that you're already jumping into work like this.

Also Dino, looks like ultra primes on there ... how did they perform? Was there a need to ever use the lens wide open?

if you remembered back a few years, camera rigs used to sometimes weigh a quarter ton... and you wonder why the equipment is so heavy and bulky.
