EPIC is the definition of flexible. I have had my EPIC for 4 days and I have had a few of them on other shoots in the past 5 months...i can tell you from personal experience, if you own any gripology or camera support gear, you can put this camera anywhere and place anything you want on it...

here are some shots of my EPIC #00087 with the top mount from element technica and the bottom plate also from ET for a perfect interface with standard (arri) baseplates.

there are also shots of a hand held rig i built in november with the help of an 1st AC in France named Benoit Pain. notice that there is an 18 MP on the EPIC, that is one of the heaviest prime lenses made...and the rig was balanced...

cinema verite as never before.

closer shots of mr flexible!

added a picture ( PS out the face, as it would get me in a lot of trouble)...

but,

this is the EPIC on the 19mm RED (arri) BP from the R1, with 19mm carbon 18" rods with a preston motor, focus motor, red brick and hand held grips, very very well balanced indeed

Excellent. Thanks for sharing Dino.

You hurt my neck with the sideways pictures, but it hurts so good. :)

Is that a custom top plate on the second to last photo?

Nice, is that cheese plate RED? I'd probably do a similar setup with the handgrips as I'm 6'5" and shoulder mounting leads to an unflattering POV : ) Thanks for posting images!

putting aside my new worries about mounting LCDs..

.. I'm still worried I won't be able to play basket ball with it if I loose my only basket ball, or it gets punctured or stolen.. am I wrong?.. or just worrying needlessly?

I'd hate to be on set, without a basket ball, only to find out Epic is good for dribbling on, but useless for dribbling with!

I guess I'll wait to hear more reports from the field

.. how strong is it?..have you tried kicking it yet? :smash:

yes light weight rod adapter, however it needs to be changed out as it rubs against the body in a weird way.

looks amazing, congrats for the baby!

This monitor is not too centered?, feel confortable?

you can actually grab the monitor base and hold the camera at below waist level in a very comfortable way, with your hands in their "natural" walking position.

yes for this way of hold it is better, my real question is: don´t you miss a magic arm?

an israeli arm??? not really, the bracket pans and tilts, yet it is solidly on there and as i said earlier, the camera can be held by the monitor bracket with two fingers, unless you are big lu, then it is 1 pinky...

I'm thinking some kind of plate that tilting the monitor to the left for shoulder operation, but in any other this looks like a rock. Thanks Dino.

And I feel like a devil but... the position of the long, long lemo connector from the body over the lens bothers you??, think of an angled Lemo?? Sorry all this, many curious people on my back.

It amazes me how many things people can worry about.

I always pay close tentative attention to those I want to grow up and be like.
I like to learn from the absolute best.

Str8 up.

I don't know, when I walk around with my hands close to my crotch people tend to glare at me, even in Amsterdam :tongue_smilie: I'll try wearing it on my chest instead, like I do my hasselblad. Ofcourse I have no experience with the Epic, it may be too big or heavy, but I would really love it to be that easy. We'll see.

that may be a bit of a stretch, but if you are a big dude, you may be able to pull it off, the camera is stout and very dense, so you may have to re-think that stance/strategy...but you be the judge when you get yours.
