What about this idea:

Controlling and operating the REDMOTE with up-to-date and widely used communication tools

such as the Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

RED Team please do it before the competition will come with the same or similar features using those affordable and cheap mobile devices.

Btw, I just saw how is possible to control and adjust Sinar e-Shutter via iPad.

Why would you want a remote for a remote Sanjin?

Are you asking that the redmote be replaced with a software only iPhone version?

This could be a problem if the general public could have access to someone else's camera using an app?

Could give rise to a whole new school of filmmaking; video mashups from the very point of origin!!

I would think pairing the link would be easy enough to avoid tampering. I gathered that the REDMote uses a propriotory wireless protocol, so unless it also supports Bluetooth... Would be a nice 'first' for the Scarlet - get plenty of play in the tech press...

What's coolest about this post is not the news within it. It's that you used the search function to actually find another post that's 8 months old... :D

Always prepared to bring up the past.

But back to topic, being able to have the AC has a redmote, DP have a redmote, and then the ScripSup to have an iphone connected to write down Focal Length, Shutter speed, FPS, is invaluable.

Doesn't the REDMOTE now operate on RED's own ultra low power consuming flavor of wi-fi?

No, the REDmote itself does not use 802.11 WiFi, it uses a proprietary wireless protocol.

This provides easy pairing, lower power consumption, better security / communication.

Android 3.0 Honeycomb app would be nice.

I'm very excited about this one. The Ipad seems like a very good platform to design an interface around.
