  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey Shawn. I know you were joking, but when it comes to the RED/Alexa debate, there are many people on this forum (no offense Sanjin) who make us Redusers sound like a bunch of cult-like amateurs. When you say something like this...

...it only promotes the idea that if the Alexa fails, somehow the RED wins. Again, I know your post was a joke, but only because I've read hundreds of great posts from you. Sorry to be the buzz kill.

Totally agree with you Julio. I thought about it for awhile before posting pic. As far as the dropped firmware - how many times have people posted about "issues" with other cameras? All digital cameras have them. But I do see where you're coming from.

Alexa is a bad ass little camera for the 1080 world. VERY AC friendly. But it is just a stop gap for now...

MOST cameras have their downside. Although I'm unaware of Panaflex downside (as ACs have had their hands in the design of the accessories)...

ALL cameras have their uses as well. I can name 3 network dramas (Hawaii Five-O/Off the Map just here in HI) that utilize anywhere from 4-6 DIFFERENT camera systems at one time... Doesn't make sense to bash any of them. Hate them all you want, so long as you know how to use them and have used them.

My apologies if anyone was offended.

All right. I was referring to Sanjin's countless posts with regards to the Alexa, which we are all familiar with. He has claimed that Alexa is inferior to everything from the Panasonic AF-100 to the GH2. His claims inevitably provoke these kinds of responses:

I think it's pretty difficult to hurt Sanjin's feelings, but he has made countless contributions to this forum outside of the Alexa debate, so I apologize if he was offended.

I always was of a view that RED and ARRI is a win-win configuration...just not the one you pictured there
