wondering if its possible at this stage to release an updated EPIC price list on the modules, accessories and bits and pieces so we can start to work out the cost of a working configuration

Not so sure if RED is ready to give us any new pricing before mid January or early February 2011.

RED will release when RED will release...
I think we should let them figure it out, and when they are ready they will let us know

Can we please let RED respond to questions that are directed towards them? Last we heard the cameras are supposed to start shipping in February. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for pricing updates at this point.

What I meant was let RED answer when they feel it is time to answer. In other words, they will let us know, when they know, I am sure.
If they have chosen not to say anything it is because they have not decided yet, or that the costs they told us in the first place are the correct ones....
But, don't forget, everything is subject to change......

unless your stage 2.. then your getting a package deal for 19.5
(best deal available) + you keep your B camera

Dont forget the 1250 you get discounted from the EPIC (stage 2) if you MX'ed your RED....

Actually yeah an updated price list would be good

I'm at stage 3.5, and obviously I get to trade in the R1 body, but what about the rest of my kit...the LCD monitor, rails, CF Card recorder, hard-drive and batteries? Will these be compatible with the new S35 brain or do I have to come up with another 13k to purchase all of the other bits??
I was just hoping I trade it in, get the new brain, whack on the old accessories, and at least be up and shooting until I can afford the SSD bits.
Any help and advice will help me budget better.

Stage 3.5 is for people who bought the R1 after October 29 2009, but before May 22 2010. I bought mine in December of 2009. The only option offered to purchasers of the R1 during this period is that they get $17500 credit towards buying an Epic S35 brain. Nothing else is included, hence my questions as to what things from the R1 will work on the Epic. Bit bummed about the rails not being compatible. Spent a small fortune on all the bits and bobs for that!!

I really think RED should reconsider this and build a ProRes module instead, and steal back all those Alexa clients.

Jim already indicated that a ProRes module is coming.
