Hi !

I'm very wondering at the moment.... a client installed a Matrox MXO2mini box to their MC5 and we shooting 24p for cinema release. And now we see that the Matrox box doesn't support 24p.... could that be ???? And why ???? So it it is not possible to work in a 24p project in MC5 with the MXO2mini ???

thx for info

Rainer

Unfortunately not at this time. There is work being done on both sides to enable 24.000fps when using Matrox Mini02.

No it does not. The only third party hardware is the Matrox Mini 02 which is for monitoring only.

Thx Michael once more.... so they should buy a Mojo DX what I told them before....

Blackmagic must be desperate to get an AVID solution up and running - I wonder if we'll see them and AJA stepping up soon, or if AVID are restricting devices that support playback. I suspect this just needs a little time to get running - but even then, these devices are going to be playback only - no way AVID will allow capture of DNx via third party boxes...

Not exactly true. Might be an issue within MC/Sym/NC; however, there are already some 3rd party hardware systems (and more coming) that record/write/capture DNxHD. It just requires entering into a licensing deal with Avid.
