  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC... ready.

I can't fit my smile in my face!!

Red team, thank you from myself and all young cinematographers that will use the tool you all created to exeed the actual boundarys.

Jim, thank you for doing what you promised and expectation for sure will not be matched with the real camera when I hold the Scarlet to my eye.

Can't wait to be a client!!!

PL, Panavision, Canon. Nikon soon to follow.

Not fair, Nikon should be the first after PL considering the Nikon was one of the first adapters for R1 cameras. There are a lot of Nikon lenses out there waiting to be used.

Amazing

Amazing

Jim,

What you have built in a this amount of time is stunning. Not just talking
about the Epic, but look at all that must be created around the Epic
and Red system. Essentially ...

- A camera company
- A software company
- A lens/accessories company
- Media, drives, the list goes on

Do any one of these things well would be a massive achievement. But to
have done them all so exceptionally well -- at price points beyond what
the industry has ever seen to this point -- is simply mind boggling.

Too bad there's no way to buy stock in Red, because I have a feeling it
would be about to explode.

Anthony

The thought of mounting my 17mm TS-E on an Epic puts a giddy smile on my face. If I could ditch my view camera, tech camera, P65+ and just carry the Epic around I would be a happy camper.

Oh....wait... has anyone asked if this new DSMC has a flash sync?

Yes, that will be a nice one together with the 24mm, too bad they made them MF only, some times even so not for architecture, would have been nice had them been AF as well.

Yes to Flash Sync, with various option under testing, including a RED Option, of the Pocket Wizard type units.

will i be able to use my original EVF with that epic and am i able to use the red raid with the epic?

Is Canon interface EOS only, or will older FD lenses be adaptable?

We love what we are doing... truly.

Jim

And it shows... it is so clear that you guys are being driven by incredible passion.... compared to....

....The competition* ... who just seem to churn out clones of each others products..... "2K is good enough" mentality because "everyone is happy with it" and it sells well and there is a good market for digital.

*actually, that's not really a valid term to use anymore, because there is no competition anymore with Epic, it just blows everything else out the water.
