  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

No NAB for RED...

Bummer. I was planning on coming.... Wanted to give you a copy of my feature film I shot on the Red. It will be done then!
 
This is actually the best news I've heard all day. I've been debating going to NAB this year, and you just made the decision for me. That's a lot of money that I can now apply towards a Scarlet purchase!
 
I think this is a mistake. A presence is necessary, if only for appearances. Imagine the FUD coming out of the arri and sony booths.....

I know quite a few people heading to NAB who have not been for years. With all the changes in technology over the last few years, they feel the need to go, to get a handle on it. RED is one of the major reasons for this decision.

A booth showing the current solutions is still a very valid sales tool. Not everyone out there is as familiar with RED as the people on this forum - But just about everyone would like to know more.

had the account for over a year, just read every day and rarely post. Did the quick reply - Felt the need to chime in on this one. sorry

There will be a RED camera in practically every booth - with plenty of companies waving the "we have RED/R3D support" flag ... the last issue of POST MAGAZINE had the word RED on virtually EVERY SINGLE PAGE.

RED has a pretty damn good "presence" these days.
 
I don't think it is a mistake I think its a good idea. Plus hopefully it would mean a bigger venue/space...ergo...not such a huge line of...well us...jumping up and down as if in a queue to visit the bathroom after a very long coach trip.

A RED DAY sounds a great idea!
 
To be frank, the only reason why I even remotely paid attention to NAB was because of Red. Now we can just go straight to where we want to go: RED Day.

Jim, any details as to where RED day may take place. I assume Las Vegas, but we all know what assuming can do.

Wow. It just got expensive for that reduser meeting and after party at Ketch's.
The Red day sound cool though.

Oh well. Maybe next year.

Last year Avid and Apple. Now Red.
This makes me wonder who else won't be showing up this year.
 
Too bad, it was fun to meet all of you once a year.

Oh well...

Maybe i'll spend more time on workflows...

I'm out- but eagerly awaiting Red Day. Thanks for the heads up Jim - I'm glad that I didn't make any reservations for NAB yet.
 
Another filmmaker's gang member here. Just a humble advice: change the title of the thread for RED DAY. Something positive is always better than any susceptible bit of negativity by anyone else external to this forum.
 
Hmmm.....Okay, there will be strippers at the REDUSER Party after all. Oh yeah, and free beer all night, and oh did I mention that there will be a RED slot machine that will pay out 16GB CF cards all night.....

It was worth a try. :-)
