  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I shot some video on my iPhone 3GS today of the working EPIC that Ted brought with him to IBC.

It was a minimal configuration: Body, Leica Lens, 5" touch screen LCD, CF module, side handle, no sound recording (there are two 3.5mm jack inputs on the front of the Body).

Such a nice couple.

Unfortunately I didn't to to IBC Amsterdam for a certain reason.

I have also posted a video with a charging REDVOLT battery that goes into the side handle of the EPIC...not very spectacular :-) but I think every detail concerning EPIC or Scarlet is interesting so here it is:

I also recorded a short video of an animation that was being displayed at the booth of Panasonic on a 152 inch 4K Plasma Display, it would be nice to have this hanging in your living room to watch all the great EPIC and Scarlet footage you have shot :-)

Thanks Marien for sharing. Did Panasonic comes out with any new Plasma Professional series TV after series 12? Thought Kaku Ito mentioned about a Master series? Lim
 
Why am I watching the first ever video of a working epic on vimeo from an Iphone?

Would have been nice to have seen stuff like this posted by J or J on RU first.

Now that vids like this are out in the wild, do you think we can see some legit quicktimes of working epics? :biggrin: Pretty please?

Hi Lim, I don't know, the only display that caught my attention at the panasonic booth was this one. That's not entirely true...they had a large 3D display as well, but I am not a big fan of 3D...so I didn't pay that much attention to it...when I look at a 3D screen I can't help but think that it's a real waste of the high resolution images, I can see the depth but the images are just not sharp enough...(at least to my eyes).

They had "working" Epics at the RED event in Vegas during NAB ... this doesn't tell us much of anything on how close they actually are to release.

If I recall correctly I heard Ted saying to someone that stage 2 will start in a few weeks and that Epic will be available late this year or early next year, but as we all know this is subject to change...
