Looks like OConnor has done it again, this time addressing several problem areas with the Mattebox and coming up with a great new design in the process.

Check out this video:

I cant tell you how many Arri shades we have replaced on our rental units do to DP's using the shade as a grip...the O-Box looks like it will solve this problem and offer a better grip in the process. Plus the ability to attach a monitor is a great idea.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one of these. Ill provide a full review once they ship.

Great job OConnor!

I was able to find some more info-
2 stage 4x5.65 or 4x4 (rear rotatable 360) + 138mm round (3 filters total) rotatable bellows...clears 18mm on full size sensor. So it looks like a solution that would work well from Canon 5D to the Epic.

Someone is totally paying attention here. 150mm bellows opening, grip attachments right on the mattebox....

Who's taking orders? ...I knew I stalled on my latest MMB1 purchase for a reason, I just didn't know what that reason was until now. Ha!

Looks like a handy matte box for the fixed Scarlet as well, keeping rods and other accessories to a minimum. That's what drives me crazy about Zacuto, too many rods, little connectors, and parts to get things to work right for me. Each little connector is also very expensive too.

The convertibility of this product looks promising, can't wait to try it out.

KO

Hmmn, I thought this info wasn't supposed to be released quite yet. Gotta check my dates.

Yeah, it's going to be quite the contender. A very impressive design. Lots of info soon.
