  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm sure it will help speed up rendering. Just don't expect to be able to play .R3D in realtime. I was only able to get realtime playback with the debayer set to Low and the Resolution set to Quarter, and this is with zero effects applied. But I'm used to just scrubbing through and then rendering. I guess I was just hoping it would be as fast as Premiere with Red Rocket.

We really need more feedback on the impact of red rocket on AE renders. Mercury was helpful with PP. AE was on his own, but now Rocket is there and I can start reconsidering getting one..

I checked the blog nothing is out yet, maybe soon..
you should also consider more PCI-E lanes if you planning into one..
 
at the top of the blog there are links for windows and mac updates. these aren't part of adobe auto updater yet. so you download and patch manually
 
Is the "Rocket out" option in the works as a future update? It would be really useful to be able to see a full screen output on a second monitor via the rocket SDI (even if it doesn't play in real time).
Thanks for the update, I am so glad we switched to CS5...FCP who????? ;-P

We are looking into it with the RED guys. No promises yet.
