1. XML is just a language and not a specific project format for NLEs. FCP and PPro use XML for import and export of sequences but that doesn't mean that the XML export from Avid will import. (It would be great if it did though.)

2. cineXML reports an error that the XML is not unicode which means that FilmScribe exported some illegal characters - probably because you are using a foreign language in the clip names.

3. There seems to be something wrong with the XML since the ScanList part is very short and that's the part that cineXML uses to create the XML för Redcine.

4. cineXML is only going to export to the old Redcine and not Redcine-X. We were thinking of updating the software to support Redcine-X with a Lua script but since you can import RED natively in MC v5 it seemed unnecessary.

Hope this helps.

Jorgen - While MC5 went a long way to improve RED based workflows, I still think there is some value in taking a pull list back to REDCINE. Having the additional parameter controls as well as a hardware controller interface does make the color correction process faster when dealing with some workflows. Also, transcode speeds are still faster in REDCINE X with a Rocket card than when a Rocket card is used within Media Composer.

Jorgen - I should also add that if you do consider this you need to be aware of the Source File vs. Tape for source ID. v5 and AMA store the source ID in the Source File column so you need to look there for the RED file name.

I'll give a +1 vote to having a cineXML version that supports Redcine-X.

Latest REDCINE supports the Avid 16char EDL...
