Smart, quick action on this deal Ketch. :)

Actually very disappointed since I was the first to view and first to post, and I wanted to buy both, but never got a response to neither the email sent or PM, no good practice at all, but still good luck with the sale of the Gearnex, just not cool.

Nice Dylon

How much was shipping? LOL!

Great price!

Hey Ketch. Sorry. Wasn't meaning to gloat.

Just FYI - I contacted Shin within five minutes of you. I don't think it is unusual for a seller to prefer someone in their own country. Let alone their own city. Let alone someone they know. Shin is a gentleman.

If you were selling something - wouldn't you rather sell to someone in LA you knew? Versus someone in Canada? Someone who could come and look at what you were selling? Safer for you. Safer for the buyer. That is what Shin did.

No hard feelings.

Sorry Dylan,

but I'm known in several forums, not only for my integrity and fairness, but for my absolute respect to those I know and those I don't, once you post on a forum, the list you can do is always give the right away to the first buyer, those that use preferences are not fair to the system, I never done it to any one and never will, after years and literally 100's of Thousands of dollars of purchases and sales, first come first serve, that is a rule of the INternet, other wise post for Local sale only.

However what is less professional land respectful is that fact that He did not responded to neither one of my message on email and or PM, sorry but no excuse for this.

But I'm happy for you.

Congratulations Dylan on buying and Shin on selling.

Well done.

Ketch, how can you be certain you were the first person to view the thread? It's not like Ebay or some online store where you can hit BUY IT NOW.

Nothing like cash in hand, person to person transaction.

Furthermore - am I the only person on here who thinks it is Tactless, as well as Tacky to have a Red MX Wanted to buy and a Red MX wanted to sell thread running in the same forum at the same time? Sorry - just a matter of personal taste I suppose, just as any transactions that happen online. Again - this isn't ebay, and last I checked Personal Preference is the mode of sales on the internet and anywhere else, it's not a game of "DoorKnob" if you know what I mean.

I think your out on your own there.
Internet forums very much do run on first reply is first in line, I don't know of any other way that its done online to be honest.

As for having multiple camera deals, what business it it of anyones that Ketch is finding cameras for one group as a broker while selling other cameras he purchased privately himself.

First of all Thanks Jay for your support!

Dan,

it is a matter of respect as a rule of the internet, a place were first come first serve, it is a rule, unless you are in a bitting war, or specify that you would only sale locally, so no matter how many respond first, the local guys will get first crack.

But here we are not on eBay and or on the internet, here we are on RedUser, our home rely, at list for moist f us, which know each other in person, and not only respect each other, but always are looking out for one an other, and Shin attitude was simply Wrong, mostly because He didn't even dignify of a response, just not cool.

As far of having multiple deals going, well very simple really, (not that I need to explain my self to any one) but the camera I have for sale is not an upgraded camera, is ready to go in , and the production I'm buying the cameras for, need MXed Red Ones ready to ship immediately, hence the WTB post for the MXed Cameras, and the Sale post for the other camera still on.

Actually, part of that whole first come first served idea, is the notion that the first person who shows up with the money gets it. I'd imagine that Dylan, being in the same town and all, went to the bank and got a money order right away, so he was first there with the cash. Beats a wire transfer hands down.

And for sure I'd rather sell to someone locally then pack it up, get a quote, wait for money to show up, and then ship it, delaying my getting on with business by days.
Totally reasonable.
Ketch your ethical argument has no weight to it on this one. Nobody owes anyone a right of first refusal because of the Internet. And nobody is obliged to sell it to you because you replied first. People sell it on the deal that works best for them on a number of levels, not just who sent them a pm first.

I've seen a number of gearnex heads for sale lately? Why is that? Anything wrong or just happenstance?

Not that I'm complaining, I hope to be able to find one for less, used, when I'm ready to get one - just curious!

Best,

Pierce

Apology

My sincere apology for not getting back to you sooner. I was shocked by overwhelming response on this sale. I got 7 calls and e-mail within 30 minutes of posting. When I sell unwanted equipment I keep my price low for quick deal. (I'm a shooter not a dealer.) Within few minutes of posting I got phone call from someone I know very well (I have not seen your reply on Reduser site at that point.) and because of each other's trust deal was struck sight unseen. No Fedex, no custom form, money as good as in my bank and he is going to use the lenses himself.
Once again my sincere apology for not getting back to you soon enough and not knowing your status in Red community and your integrity.

I'll stick to my philosophy.

Mere words on the internet do not dictate what I Must or Must Not do.

I guess I'm alone on that thought here - but I'm not of the herd mentality I have my own thoughts and do things my way.

If you don't think the world works that way, then you are the ones who must closely examine the truth in the world around you.

I completely understand how you could have been overwhelmed Shin, all I really needed was just a response.

I thank you for it, and Apology excepted.

Furthermore

Furthermore

I just double checked my PM

4:45 posting goes up FS RPP and Gearnex.

5:01 Luis Ismal "interested but not committed"

5:04 Ketch "interested but not committed"

5:10 Dylan "interested but not committed"

5:20 Dylan's partner calls me on my cell and make arrangement for inspection 11 am next day.

8:00 Dylan calls me on my cell and makes offer to buy sight unseen based on each other's trust.

Ketch: by your argument I am committed to Luis Ismal for him saying he is interested although he is not committed.

Dylan has made solid commitment first. End of argument.
