  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So, Chris at Kesslercrane will be handling taking this order.
What he will need to do is to generate a manual order for each individual person. To put this together, He will need the order details and shipping address (with e-mail address and telephone number) for each order, so He can send the invoice to each individual person with total cost with shipping.

Delivery before the end of July? This is what he wrote;
To be honest, the logistics involved with getting the manual quotes together and receiving the payments from the various individuals and shipping out the orders will make it difficult for the items to be delivered by the end of July, at this point, unless they went with Next Day Air shipping, and then we would still be pushing it. As of right now, as late into the month as we are right now, and the fact the process has not started yet, I cannot guarantee delivery before the end of July.

Once you get me the order details, I will start working on putting the manual orders together.

So if any1 interested, Please PM me your order details and shipping address (with e-mail address and telephone number) ASAP By Monday 26th 2010, I will have to pass him for group Discount.

I'd be interested but at more than the 15% off though.... and agree with the above post, 30% is more like it, and I'm sure if he did that, he would get lots of orders... and

while we're at it, how about a deal for the crane/jib?! I'd be down for that!:thumbsup:
 
I tried to arrange going to kessler and buying a bunch of stuff last year.... as I only live a few hours away and was going to pay cash ( sometimes I'm paid in cash )... but they said no and I must order online. So I bought other product at calumet in chicago instead.

I did buy a pocket dolly when they first came out... love it for a stripped down RED, but I'm sure the Cineslider would be mucho better.

Yada yada yada.... You can't exactly compare a group-buy from a company as large as Arri with one as small as Kessler Crane (or V-Bag). Not all companies have the same kind of overhead on products and every company is different so you can't compare them like you're doing.

Right. Different companies - different products - different MARGINS.

That being said - 15% discount on a slider? You can do much better - but 10 isn't actually a significant "group buy".

Ask them ... "if I can put an order together for 100 - in less than two weeks - will you give me 35% off?" and see what they say - the "less than two weeks" part is the key ...
 
I'm currently looking at a large kessler purchase in the next week. Did anything happen on this? Even 15% would be better than full price!
 
I sent this link to Eric Kessler and He responded respectfully...

"I am sorry we do not even give dealers that spend over 100 k that kind of discount. Seriously we at best have a 30 % margin and I, as much as I wish I could work for free do not intend to. Will you work for free or at a loss?"

I can totally understand his decision. I just wanted to ask if it's possible.
 
I would be perfectly happy with the 15% if that is what was originally offered. If that is for the entire order, then that is still a couple hundred dollars of savings. Was it ever clear as to the entire order or only the Cineslider?

Just spent some time with Eric in Key West and was really impressed with the CineSlider. That unit did not even budge when I applied my full weight to the track!!! Despite me owning a Camtram, I am super hot on the Cineslider and his motor setup. Also, check out the Shuttlepod setup... BTW- Eric is a independent manufacturer building very high quality gear at a very reasonable price. IMO- you should consider yourself lucky if you get any discount at all.

I have to agree. While this group buy comes together, or not, I bought a cineslider. It's a really well made bit of gear for a very reasonable price. You buy it directly from the manufacturing company, so profits can help R&D new features and innovations. My advice would be not to wait, just order one of these very useful beasties today
