Only one month to pay remainding $14500 dollars on Epic

Sorry guys. I am a little confused. I have read a lot of posts that seem to imply that when our Stage 2 number comes up for our Epic delivery that we must pay the balance within a month?

Is this correct?

We have paid the $5000 deposit on stage 2. So when the Epic number comes up we must pay $14500 to cover the total $19000. Is it correct that there is any time limit on when this needs to be paid? If there is what is the penalty?

Shipping of RED EPIC-X will be in order of R1 Delivery DATE!

Yes, once your Epic-X is ready to ship and RED notifies you, only 30 DAYS will be given to you to pay the remaining Balance.

Balance after the 5k deposit will be of 14.5k but if your R1 had the MX sensor upgrade then your Balance to be paid for the Epic-X will be of $13,250 as you will be credited $1,250 for the MX upgrade.

However if your R1 had not yet gotten the MX upgrade, you will then pay the full 14.5k balance to receive your Epic-X, and when you do get the R1 MXed then instead of paying the full $5,750 you will get the $1,250 credit and only pay $4.5k to do the MX upgrade.

You are correct David, but I also absolutely Trust RED, and the way they do business.

So what it means really is that we would each get our Epic-X in order of delivery dates of our R1's.

There is no knowing how many Red Owners have entered "Stage 2" but IMO this number are far below what they will be for "stage 3" so we will get our stage 2 fairly Fast!

I can care less of some one else receiving theirs first, I inly care to get mines, and I trust Red to make sure that I get them when is my turn in place to get them.

-you get your $5K for 5K money back
-you loose all opportunities for any current or future upgrade or stage.
-Stage 2 is an "all in" bet.

what about the modules and assecoires?
will we have the possibility to add them to our account (lets say when tatoo begins), so red knows how much to build of which assecoires, so no or very little backordering on delivery happens so we have a kickass epic kit right from the beginning?

..... since you basically have to have the money there on stand-by with no fixed date. .....

What is difficult is that its a relatively large sum of money an indetermined date with no notice. ....

I understand what you're writing Thomas.

I suppose you could've found a short term CD fund or something too. But it may be too much of a gamble at this point, if the call comes in before you can take the cash out again.

But having the cash sitting ready for now is definitely going to pay off quickly once you're a few of the first Epics to be available. And that gift will keep giving I'm sure, since RED has kept us pretty happy so far, right?

I just bought a second hand RED MX which is still at RED getting upgraded. I am expecting to get it in a couple of weeks

Only the original R1 purchaser had the options on Stages 2 & 3. The seller has to arrange for the Epic upgrade BEFORE giving you full ownership. However, you can still have effective use and possession of the kit in the meantime by arranging a lease to buy until the Epic upgrade is done (Ketch Rossi did a lot of this if you Google search Reduser).

Also, they needed to have paid the $5K deposit quite a while back to be eligible for Stage 2. If they didn't then that Red will only be eligible for Stage 3 or later.

Red is not going to build a couple thousand cameras overnight, heheh. I think everyone has time to get the money they need, but like the original postings say, when your number does come up, you have 30 days to pay and if you don't then you wait until you have your full amount and they work you in where they can....least that was how it was before. This is Red you know, change happens, count on it.

Adam, you do understand the difference between executed and unexecuted, yes? If the camera you have leased/purchased is already executed for Stage 2, you will not be able to trade it in for an Epic.

What sucks is, if everyone gets a 30 day window to "pay" the balance for the epic x stage 2 delivery and EVERYONE takes that 30 day window, it pushes the window of delivery far off into the distant future for the people who didn't buy RED ONE on day 1. :/ I hope all you people pay quick.

Let's say that there are 2000 customers in Stage II and that they can produce 10 Epic's per day, then it would take 230 days to fill the Stage II orders. But, if they can produce 200 Epics/day it would take 40 days to fill the Stage II orders. So, it would be nice to know, how many Stage II orders are in, and how many Epics will be produced per day. Does anyone care to speculate on these numbers?
