Hi all,

I wanted to give a shout-out to our customer - OFFHOLLYWOOD. Here is a quote from our user forum from last night:

"My name is Milan Boncich, a colorist at Offhollywood in New York. We use Scratch here at our facility and I've just finished grading Doug Liman's "Fair Game" with Sean Penn and Naomi Watts. It's the only US film in Competition at Cannes this year. It was completely graded on vers. 5.0 and we are really proud to be a part of it. "

Very cool... congrats to OFFHOLLYWOOD, RED, and the entire crew behind the film.

Best,

Lucas

Looks interesting! I love Doug Liman's work, I was a fan since Swingers, one of my all time favorite movies.

Wow that looks excellent. I love Sean Penn and Doug Liman, and a Red + Master Primes always looks amazing.

Congratulations to all involved. Just being selected for competition is an honor. The film is being screened in two days. I hope your working on it to the last minute pays off. Sean Penn won't be there. He is testifying in front of the Senate about Haiti. He has been there trying to help people get ready for the rains. Terrible situation, they need tarps.

I saw Fair Game and thought it was excellent! Doug did a great job shooting as well as directing. It stayed compelling throughout the whole story which is hard to do for that type of drama, the editors did a great job. Sean Penn and Naomi Watts were both awesome as Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame. Congratulations to everyone on this show.

"For the first time since "Go," Liman has opted to handle lensing duties himself, and the result has a slightly chilly, washed-out look, visually evoking the gray zone between private truths and public lies. Tech credits are pro all the way, with impressive but unobtrusive location shooting in Jordan, Egypt and Malaysia."

Lucas, what are the biggest films (in terms of budget or prestige) that have actually been timed and finished in Scratch?

I don't know all of them, but here are a few of my fairly recent favorites...

"Frozen River"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978759/

"Miracle Fish"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1337354/

"Che"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374569/

"Take Off"

Some other notables...
"Journey to the Center of the Earth" - the very first feature film every graded in stereo with the clients watching it in stereo.

"The Informant" and "The Girlfriend Experience" - more good stuff from Soderbergh.

And "Fair Game" marks the 13th film in Competition at Cannes over the past few years that SCRATCH has been the exclusive DI tool for.

I know it's an incomplete list and I will get flak from lots of customers tomorrow, but... it's late and that's what I can remember off the top of my head. : )

Best,

Lucas

Looks wonderful !

Congrats Mark !

Is there going to be a DCP ?

Yes - we mastered the DCP which was shown in Cannes.

I'm not sure how Summit will roll it out, but I hope and assume there will be screens showing digital.

We worked with Fotokem in LA for the film out - and they nailed it. Can't say enough how happy we are with FotoKem.
