  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Use Photoshop CS5 "Content-Aware-Fill" to create Green-Screen Background Plates.

mine was an Amstrad CPC464 with a 8bit colour screen 1986!.... and look at how much we have moved on today... Dual boot Macbook Pros with with Snow Leopard and Windows 7!

... its great time to be alive!!!

Sinclair ZX-80, back in 1980. Not the kit one, though.

my first computer was the first gen MacBook Pro 17"...3 1/2 years ago. Born in May '91, too bad I can't tell stories of "way back when"...

Just wait 20 years, That MacBook Pro 17" will be 20 times less powerful than your iPhone 9G and then you have your way back when stories. :)

First computer: Timex Sinclair. 2K of ram and had the 16K expansion

Second computer: Atari 130XE with 128Kbytes of RAM and Indus Floppy Drive.

Third Computer: Self built Z80 based, 24Mhz. (8088 clone).

From there I went 286,386,486,Pentium,Celeron,Thunderbird,G3,G4,G5,Core Duo, Xeon, and Core 2 Duo. There were various quantities of each of those machines in the middle and I am sure I am leaving some out. I upgraded every year with PCs after I got into college. For Macs, it is now every 2 years.

:)

Man, thats a lot of computers. LOL

That's only a sampling of what I have owned. If we look at what I used through-out the years, we'd need to add; TI-99, Tandy Color Computer, C64, C128, Vic20, Pet, Adam, Timex Sinclair 2000, Amiga, Atari ST, Atari 800XL, Apple II (and all other varieties around this model), Macintosh SE (and all other varieties around this model), Sun Workstation (5,10,20,Ultra,Ultra2,Ultra60,Sunfire) and even a Next station. I am SURE I am leaving something out here :)

Did I mention I've used a lot of computers?

ZX81 kit, great for kids. Was 12 years old and peeking and pokeing. Content-aware, too. Wicked slow machine, you could count the cycles per second with, like, your hands. Slow hasn't changed, has it? The gas thing, so true.

By the way: CS5's content-aware-fill? Difficult without temporal context (the bread and butter of restoration apps). And it shows. The demos leave me underwhelmed.

that is a lot of computers, wow. You are certified geek. LOL Nothing gets geekier than both the Atari and the Sun workstations. HA ha

I loved my Atari 130XE, favorite computer ever to this day. It was funny, I always wanted an Atari 520 ST and one day in 1997 someone was throwing one out. I bought it and fixed the floppy drive on it and used it maybe 10 times. It was cool, but was definitely past its prime at that point.

I also used a video toaster machine in college. Was pretty neat!

Yeah, I am a certified geek, hands down. I love technology. I am dying to get my hands on CS5 After Effects (waiting for it to come in locally) so I can explore the hell out of it.

Which is why I am excited as hell to get a scarlet as well to just use every feature on it!

What is really sad is my calculator, and HP48GX is more powerful than the first 3 or 4 computers I ever owned! :)

I also had a Dauphin DTR-1 WAY BEFORE many other tablet based machines came out.

I even built my own special expansion cable for it so I could copy windows 95 into the internal HD and then used a hex editor to manually get Windows 95 to work on the machine.

It was slow and didn't work that great with Windows 95, but that was a fun project to say the least.

Hey Rick, maybe you could add this to your amazing list..unless you allready have that is!..i know so little about the subject but i wouldn`t mind one sitting by my desk..

`Affordably priced, the award-winning Cray CX1 is the right size in performance, functionality and cost for a wide range of users, from the single user using a personal supercomputer `

Ha ha, at the Apple store. Just kidding. I haven't paid attention to super computers years. I wonder I how much faster the cray will be with the Adobe mercury engine? you can probably edit Red's future 28k footage in faster than real time. LOL
