  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I don't know if I would ever swear to defend my point, that kind of makes you point less defined and I can not use that to defend RED if there is that strong of vulgar word used. My investors just won't have that.

I guess we're in a point where RED quality pretty much speaks for itself.

This is a community, RED openly have a diferent attitude, we're all fine with that.

Bring us the 3K Betacam already, I mean... Scarlet.
 
I guess this just boils down to the fact that RED is telling you that if you can't take a joke, get the hell out of the kitchen. It's your loss after all. And seriously? Disrespect? Profanity? He said one swear word for christs sake! You know, there are people - human beings - behind RED too - not just the camera-making-maniacs they are.
Cut them some slack. They've earned it a few times over. :hand:
 
Well from a business POV I'd never tell someone who had invested cash in my business and promotes it (Particularly Noah) to fuck off, thats Business 101 for me. But as Jarred says its his house not ours.
 
I think this is all part of some clever marketing ploy by RED. They've quietly abandoned the Scarlet and have been trawling eBay for old BetaMax camcorders which will then be re-furbished and launched as the next product line: RedMax.

But it is Red's house, and that whole 7D sillyness that went down after house was just tooooooooooo silly for them to bare any longer.

This is the kind of behavior that puts the people off of Reduser. Red owners who express genuine concern and give honest suggestions get shut down and called pussies. Not just by other users but also by Red. Way to go guys.
 
Didn't Ted's traveling proto EVF do without the word?

I would guess that it starts conversations, it paints a picture of an aggressive company, possibly reminding you that they will plow ahead with R&D, growth of their support channels, never looking back, always looking forward, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the word didn't ship, but remained a nickname. I wouldn't mind it either way, only prefer, but it is RED's product, not mine. I am only happy that it will be so small, light, and powerful. Add even more resolution and I'd use it even if it said idiot in bold letters with a big arrow pointing towards the user. :D
 
some folks get so worked up about two letters, but don't seem to understand the frustration on the other end when numerous requests have been made to allow REDuser to remain a red centric forum, and not be overrun by constant bickering and arguing in other camera threads, continue to go ignored. They dont' work well here. You can like the policy or not, but it is the policy. either respect it while here, or go discuss the other camera that you would like to discuss on a forum that covers that actually covers that camera.

At this point, people still trying to force discussions of other cameras that are not initiated by forum or red staff (or that don't have some direct relevance to RED...i.e. multicam shoot) on this board, are little more than trolls.

You don't go to an nvidia dedicated board to discuss ati products. likewise, continuing to try to hammer in dslr threads into a RED centric board makes little sense much of the time... especially given the result of most of those threads (people showing their asses) and particularly given the lineage of REDuser.... which began as a wee sub-forum of the new guys section on dvxuser (which has extensive coverage of other cameras, as do other forums such as dvinfo.net) in the first place. now a dedicated forum... one dedicated to all things RED.

Anyway, I have to admit. I have a real issue with this latest auto-correct word choice of "betacam". Why "betacam"? To me, "VHS-C" or "digital 8" would have been more appropriate, but I digress...

And while we're at it. I still think "game changer" needs to autocorrect to "bad mamma jamma" or "shamalamadingdong".

Who decided that “fuck” was evil? You don’t know them, but you believe, it right? Just a little bit of you feels guilty for saying that word. You just fall in line with all of the people who believe shit because. Somebody, probably a parent, tells you that something is bad and you agree on the basis of them having said it.
When people pull this shit what they are trying to do is establish rank. Think of it as a small dog humping another male dog. It’s about setting themselves up in the area of appropriate behavior. They are explaining to you, with their sneer of disapproval, that you are down on the scale of humanity than them. Who does this? Those who want to establish social orders that have nothing to do with tangible right/wrong issues. The fact that this is what they choose to be offended by shows you that they themselves have no idea what real good/evil consists of and therefore are morally deficient. Insecure about their own righteousness they try to establish it with something easy like not cursing.
Also, stupid people who fail to recognize a stupid argument when they see it (because they are stupid). The truth is that words don’t have a moral value. They have no right or wrong attached them outside of context. Why invest yourself in standing up against “foul language” instead of something like human trafficking? Because you are dumb little pissant who would be better off getting cancer and dying slowly, that’s why. Yeah, motherfucker, you have my permission to be offended by that.
