Okay, so I guess it's coming back to bite that there's only RF mount versions of RED cameras but on the outside chance they release RF versions at some point, what do you guys think about the newly announced Zeiss Nano Primes?

They will release RF versions or at minimum swappable RF mounts for them.

Okay, after looking at some comparison videos, clearly these fall into "Budget Supremes" territory! Granted, I noticed in some shots with the CP3s that, depending on your personal taste, the CP3s can look a bit prettier than the Nanos or the Supremes in some instances. The Nanos have that nice blend of biting Zeiss sharpness with a nice falloff to match, however, I think the Supremes produce a cleaner image overall but that may be deemed more "clinical" so, again, it's all to taste. The Nanos definitely appear to lean more towards the look of the Supremes more so than the CP3s or any previous lines but I haven't seen comparisons with Otus as of yet if comparing top Zeiss lenses to each other. I did notice some more chromatic aberration than expected though in some test shots, more of the red/green variety than the usual classic Zeiss blue/purple edges, and it reminded me of when I tested non-DS Rokinon Cine lenses versus Rokinon Cine DS when I was testing for my first feature. I'm sure these are going to fall into the category of "Not Going To Say No" sort of lenses when given a choice versus some competing sets but then again, there's some neat stuff coming from the competition and some that have been around for quite a while.

If I were to give some edges to the Nanos over the competition from what I can see, it would be in their smart eXtended data CinCraft connection and interchangeable mounts as those two features alone will definitely come in handy and make for a better long term investment bonus. I know some have reservations about the filter thread aspect of these mid-tier lenses but, honestly, I'm thankful as I would keep a B+W protective filter on these at all times as we had moments with our Rokinon Cine DS lenses on set during my first feature where I'm glad I had filters on because otherwise I would have some scratched or cracked brand new lenses.

Personally, I still have my eye on some other lens options, including classic Zeiss options, and I do like the Sony G Master line for E mount use even though they're stills lenses but these new Zeiss Nano lenses definitely stand out for consideration going forward.

Hi, I am looking at the Sony SCL-P50T2 version 1 PL made fot the sony F3, some forums says the PL mount does not fit in some other brand pl mounts, Mine is RED one mx with original PL, have you tried those lenses? thanks
