I'm looking for a brand new (or nearly new) DSMC Side Handle. I'll pay $1,100, which is more than full-price. I placed a deposit yesterday for one from RED, however after reading the last backorder update, I'm confident that I won't be receiving it until February. So, if anyone has one, I'll take it and cancel my order with RED.

UPDATE:
I got one. Thanks everyone. :)

It's kinda sad that we have to resort to this. :-/

Why would anyone working professionally want to earn $100 by losing the piece that makes the camera look like the camera?

On every commercial and film I've been on with Epic, the side handle sits there, often unused, unless another AC prefers using the handle controls (once). Yet it makes the camera look like the Epic, so it has to be there. Unless you're using the cage system--I've yet to see it--there's no reason to leave the lightest third of the smallest professional camera behind.

Sure there are plenty of applications where it's unnecessary, even gets in the way, but I will be incredibly surprised if someone trades it for $100.

I'm honestly buying mine simply to make it more attractive to renters. When I'm using the cam personally, it certainly will not be on there for show if I don't need it....how ridiculous! No? Or maybe I don't have clients like yours? But to get back on track, good luck Brian! I hope someone is willing to trade their side-handle for some lens cash :)

Well, then be surprised. I just got one. :)

Thank you Matthew. =) By the way, how do you power your camera?

Red Mote is better! lol

Perhaps so, but I need the Side Handle to power the camera until RED releases their Quad Battery Module.
