Hi everyone,

I'm going on to a job shooting on epic.

I have a new iMac but can't afford a red rocket.

They are shooting 4k and I was wondering your opinions on the best workflow.

I was going to offload using shot-put and then in either cini x or da vinci (which i've used most times before on Alexa jobs) grade and transcode.

Post are using Avid

I also want to make h264's so i can put transcoded footage onto an iPad using todalies.

As I'm new to the forum and red in general all advice is appreciated and please don't be afraid to patronise I just want to cover everything.

Thanks in advance

One of the newer iMacs will now transcode 4K around 8-10 fps with GPU support, you can live without a rocket at this point.
