Hi guys..

Im newbie here in RED world. So basically If i have FCP- Film Scan - Scratch and Flame*...whut is the best pipeline for these 4Gs.? (Reccomend for the good setting). We gonna setup for SD/HD and 2K. Also for RED finishing.

One more thing...which u prefer between Scratch and Baselight ?
We need some input here.

Thanks and im gonna wait for the input ASAP.

I'm a little confused about your question, can you please clarify your workflow?

You have some footage from Red and some from film scans?

Anyhow, if you're shooting Red then FCP is an easy choice for editing. We use the low res proxies for offline edit, then generate a CMX3600, import to Scratch, conform, grade, render to whatever deliverable is required.

I love Baselight. It has some fantastic tools that Scratch lacks, and for film it's pretty unbeatable when combined with Truelight. But for Red material I still choose to work in Scratch. Once the Linux SDK is out, and Baselight can do the color science and transcoding all in one place, I think it'll be tough to beat.

But for now my choice with Red footage is Scratch.

cheers,

JT
