Just jumped ship from my mac and built a mini itx pc, I'm trying to find what raid software to use with my 4bay AKiTiO array. I tried Microsoft's storage spaces but it crashed after the first day and seems really finicky.

On my mac I used softraid, is there a windows 10 x64 equivalent?

The thunder2quad is not a hardware raid box, so software is needed to do a raid. It looks like my motherboard is having thunderbolt firmware issues. I was just looking for a better software solution than storage spaces in windows 10.

Not sure about the Akatio but for a RAID box with four 4 TB disks I just went into Windows (hold on a second while I try to repeat the process on this machine.... ... ... o.k. got it. Go to computer management/ storage/ disks and configure those disks as a RAID array. I've also done RAIDs this way that were simply mounted in the windows machine.

disclaimer, that's the pathway for Windows 7. Windows 10 is probably slightly different but should be doable unless I totally misunderstood what you are asking.

Ya windows 10 has what is called "Storage Spaces" which is essentially the same thing. I was just curious if there was a 3rd party software solution that was better than what comes standard on windows.
