Hi all,
I really confused by best visual effects and best lighting effects in the movie, does the best lighting effects really exist or not, how to distribute these two parts?
I need help, maybe you can pick out a film and make an example to me, I will appreciate.

What do you mean Jaci, are you referring to Color Grading and On-Set Lighting?

Just look at it this way: You can't add a back light to your actor on the grading suite.

If you're referring to aspects like exposure level, overexposure, filtering, nowadays there's more flexibility in post today when it comes to these, specially with RAW.

These days, I think "visual effects" usually means computer-generated effects (such as characters, backgrounds, props, etc.), while "lighting effects" would mean physical effects done on the set with real lights.

The line can be grey at times with the abilities of After Effects and Nuke. But it is commonly nowadays called visual effects for predominately 2D layer or node based composited effects done in-computer. So visual effects can literally either be composited elements like Chris commented or it can be light effects composited.

A recent good example of lighting effects was the recently done Deftones Sextape video that was posted on here by REDUSER directed by ZFCL

http://vimeo.com/14498523 this was all lighting effects.
