  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What's needed to run the camera?

Is there anything else that is required to purchase with the Fixed Scarlet?

And, how many min. of recording is there on the CF card?
~ Can I use the RED-Drive, instead? (Unless, if there is another name, or something else for the RED-Drive)

It appears the Fixed Scarlet doesn't come with a CF card, so you'd need to add one. I suppose you could capture directly to a laptop or something. Too much information floating around here for me to wade through it.:001_smile:

sounds good. RED -Drive or laptop seems better than CF Cards.
So, what would I need to get extra for the RED-Drive? Cable and..

How many minutes do I get for one 16GB card? (at full res.)

Jarred has confirmed that we would need a "RED-DRIVE-MODULE", which is suppose to be a very thin module with the connector for the RED-DRIVE cable...

 Peter

Does it say anywhere how much it will be?

I don't beleive they have, but you will probably need the $300 module adaptor and then I would expect that the RED DRIVE module would be somewhere in the $300 to $800 range.

Hopefully if it is light and small enough it will be able to attach directly to the camera without needing the adaptor (like how the REDMOTE attaches), but I think that's unlikely.

I'm pretty sure they said the ethernet was only for transferring files after they were recorded, not for direct capture to laptops etc.

Decided not to get the Scarlet, it will be too much for me with everything
