Looking for a some over-ear headphones for approximately $100-130 CAD.
I'm hoping to be able to buy it locally so I dont need to pay shipping and so I can listen to them before I buy them.

I'm looking for something with good quality sound, nice bass and good levels. Not flat sounding.
This is NOT for monitoring. Its for listening to a wide genre of music and mainly for watching movies and films online.
Not for ipod or anything like that. Only at home listening to music/films.

- Tiger Direct

Do not want noise-cancelling headphones. But would like to heave them to be noise isolating so others dont hear me and I dont hear them (to the best it could be)

Yep, as far as studio-monitoring goes the Beyer DT's are the finest.. For "on-ear" type cans I'd go down the Sennheisser route. Been using them in the Beeb for over 20 years!

I've been thinking about Sennheisser's too. They are also the easiest to obtain from what I see.
but I wouldnt know which, or if there would be other ones to consider.

I have never seen any headphones other than Sony MDR-7506's used on American film & TV sets by the sound crew. I think those are used by about 20 to 1 more than any other brand or model, and they only cost about a hundred bucks.

Yes, if I was getting monitoring headphones I would get these. But as my original post says, I do NOT want them for monitoring.

Why are you asking for this on a production equipment discussion forum?

No headphones can take the place of speakers, especially with a 5.1 mix. If I had to pick one great-sounding dynamic headphone regardless of price, I'd go with the Sennheiser HD600's at about $300, which are typically my pick for stereo music. Sony's newer MDR-7510 is not bad, either, and costs less than half as much.
