Hi,

A week ago I received my Helium 8k (my first RED :w00t: ) and I have 2 batteries 98 hypercore and it uses up the battery fast, I would
like to know which V mount recommend that it be one of the longest battery life.

Which ones they recommend to use locally and to travel

Thanks,

Dai

Batteries are rated in watt-hours. The ones you have are 98 watt-hours. DSMC2's pull about 50 watts, so a 98 is going to run the camera for 2 hours (98 divided by 50 is about 2) in a best-case scenario.

The longest lasting one is going to be the one with the largest watt-hour rating. I have some Blueshape 270's that last about 4-5 hours depending on accessories. I also have some 180's that will run a DSMC2 for about 3-3.5 hours.

You might also look into getting a shark fin which will let you put two batteries onto the camera at the same time, giving longer runtimes as well as the ability to swap batteries without powering the camera down. Careful though as this can possibly block your inputs on the camera right side if the batteries are too wide.

Be aware that a mount wich has a battery included to power swap without shutting down will reduce your camera battery time.

like Aaron said, you'd want the higher WH batteries for local set work....if you need Vlocks for air travel then I think the max capacity allowed for batteries is 95WH.

1) You have to take your lithium batteries in cabin
2) You can take as many you want samller than <100wh (with the agreement of the aircompany, but usually they don't know that and it depends on the informations given to the security check agent)
3) You can take up to 2 batteries smaller than <160wh for each travelling person with you.
4) It's recommended to isolate them individually in plastic bags and tape the contacts.

Do you know if this Hot swap will work with DSMC2, wireless accessories and gimbal.
The Watt consumption from all the gear is less than 70W. I know it because i power them from the D-tap off the RED DSMC BATTERY BELT CLIP.
What V-mount batteries are the best for this set-up?
