Hi all,

I'm new to the RED system and need to place my order asap.
Since PAGlinks are very well quoted for all their characteristics, I'm planning to use them, so some questions:

1 - Are PAGlinks batteries full compatible with Weapon Magnesium?
2 - Should I buy the RED V-mount or the PAGlink V-mount (and which one)?
3 - Will they work with the top RED handle?
4 - Will PAGlinks produce any kind of issue with the DSMC2 new positioning fans cooling system?

Urgently needing for your input, please!

Thanks in advance.

All the best,

1 - Are PAGlinks batteries full compatible with Weapon Magnesium?

our CF weapon is compatible

2 - Should I buy the RED V-mount or the PAGlink V-mount (and which one)?

If you mean plate... not really sure but I supsect RED ET or WC or Actionproducts

3 - Will they work with the top RED handle?

They are pretty short so I'd guess yes

4 - Will PAGlinks produce any kind of issue with the DSMC2 new positioning fans cooling system?

Nope

true but the batteries themselves are capable of sending the data to any red camera. The dragon plates and battery belt clip will transfer the data. Haven't tried the weapon ET plate yet to know for sure.

So far our ET V-mount plate is only transferring voltage and not % to our Weapons.

Haven't had a chance to follow up with ET yet. Or is that up to RED to update the camera firmware?

I recently saw the new Scarlet W with the Wooden V mount and pag battery and top handle and 7" screen. Because the Wooden lets you mount the Pag low there was no problem in changing battery with handle attached. By the way the lens was 24-70 2.8 ef. It was very well balanced in this config and felt much lighter than my M Dragon in a similar config.

Come on dude it's all about the volts! Just kidding get a belt clip on base expander or v mount io. Both work great but so do the third party stuff I have WC and ET gear too. Like dionics or paglinks so far size wise

Just change from the R Bricks to PagLinks I don't think I have ever been happier with a battery.
They are great and small. And work just as expected with my Weapon and ET V mount...
I took a long long long time to choose a batt system and Im very glad.
There is a plus to the larger Red Bricks.. They last for ever on the camera even with extras... But they are bigger in size and power rating.
"Hello TSA man with my battery in hand."

You are using Element Technica V-mount but since I'm in Europe I'm thinking about the RED DSMC2 BASE I/O V-LOCK EXPANDER and the Pag link. Will it work with the top handle?

Another thing: if I use a non-RED battery, will I still have warranty for the camera? In the Warranties conditions its written: "Warranty Limitations - All RED warranties do not cover...use third party accessories..."
Anyone know for sure if the use of a PAGlink will void the camera's warranty in any way?

I believe certified third party is fine but check with your rep to be sure... And I only use dionics and paglinks myself so I assume it's fine

not sure on the Warrenty question.
And I have not actually used the DMSC2 Expander with Vlock but I know the Pags will work powering the camera but the top handle might be a little tight getting the battery on the camera. Don't know for sure.

I'm pretty sure (99%) that using a third party battery will not void your warranty, unless it's some unknown homemade or cheap off brand no one has ever heard of.
