Are there any Apps or Programs that simulate the Compression and Frame Rate options UI for a Weapon?

There is the tool on RED.com but it has not been updated for Weapon.

Definitely want to know this info across the board.

Perfect, Thankyou Stacey.

So not much of a difference, 10:1 vs 7:1 6k Varispeed Between Epic Dragon and Weapon CF. Is this noticeable?

Its 30% percent less compressed. Thats almost 1/3 better.

Also advantages of Weapon over Epic are numerous...its not just about data rates...thats a small part of the picture...

Yes I have seen Phil's images and comparisons.. I know all the other pluses listed, but speaking of the image compression solely. Thanks Nick.

Ahh....IMHO, 10:1 can be challenging if the background of the shot is complicated, textured, and not compression "friendly" (ie lots of foliage, dense terrain, etc). Whereas 7:1 is below REDs standard recommendstion of 8:1 and could presumably handle these more challenging situations better.

But...for more simple/restrained shots...Im sure 10:1 and 7:1 could look very similar...

I would not read anything into 8:1 as 'Reds standard recommendation' that was also the default on Epic MX.......

Thanks Nick. Congratulations on Small Giant.

Thanks Stephen as well.
