  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Waveform Monitor?

I like the Panasonic BT-LH900 8.4" onboard monitor with it's little built-in waveform monitor. Sure it is no where near as accurate as a $7000 Evertz, but remember that the HDSDI outputs on the Red are only showing an arbitrary down-rez from 4K anyway.

You run some tests, learn how the levels on the waveform equate to the levels in the 4K raw file, and go from there.

Another great benefit of that monitor is the built-in zoom. Combined with the zoom button on the camera, it makes focus a breeze!

Tektronix WFM 5000 works great with the Epic and the RED One, Does Waveform, Vectors, Pictures, Audio, and Gamut.

Small lightweight battery power or AC. power.
