  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Vinyl HBO

I just watched this on HBO last night and the cinematography blew my mind.
Seemed the Martin Scorsese and crew, had a lot fun shooting this . Crazy good shots.
Check it out :

Yup. F55 RAW. Reed Morano, ASC & DIT Charlie Anderson taking names and killin' it as usual. Visited the set a few times. Amazing work.

funny, I was at home today enjoying my first day break from a DOP job for a feature film when on the way to my fridge to grab a beer my eyes were cough by a teaser of Vinyl on HBO and I literally stopped, and thought exactly the same! Wow, great Cinematography !!!

You guys just sold me into watching the first few episodes. Couldn't agree more.

I have only seen the previews but can't wait to check out the full episodes. I believe the premiere was shot by Rodrigo Prieto.

Rodrigo Preto shot the two hour pilot with Martin Scorsese Directing . later episodes feature other directors and cinematographers.

SFX ND combo filters BEHIND the lens, wow.
also, a 32 day shoot for the pilot? crazy.

HBO is doing great job on the boundaries between Film & TV.

I can't agree anymore on the quote "It's not TV, It's HBO" - Of course, it doesn't mean that all the HBO shows are superior than other TV shows.

I just watched the Louie C.K in Netflix, and I thought the cinematography, blocking, performance were very well balanced. The shots were creative, and poetic.
Some of the HBO shows aren't satisfied with third party Pilot like the Louie.

I think Vinyl could be next long run hit like Boardwalk Empire. I can't wait to watch it later tonight
