Hi,

I'm on a really tight deadline, and i have a project, edited in Premiere CS4, that i want to export an EDL from to take to a Avid DS grading suite.

Before i edited i subclipped everything, but now when i want to export an edl, the edl references subclips, not the master files.

I'm very worried that the edl won't point to the R3D master files when opened in Avid DS.

Can someone either put my fears to rest or suggest a way around the problem?

Thankyou!!!!

Jim

I can't speak to CS4... but exporting an EDL from FCP that has subclips is an issue, and there is a simple "remove subclip limits" menu option you apply to all your clips in the timeline. I don't know if CS4 has a similar function.

You could recreate a few of your edits on a fresh timeline, using the same TC in and outs but from the master clips and export that EDL, then compare the two. That should tell you if there are issues.

Hi, thankyou for replying. Cant find a similar function, so i may have to manually reconstruct it.

the other issue im concerned about is that the post house has asked for an edl which references the 16 digit R3D names, but the edl im exporting only references the first 8 digits. Any suggestions?
